Orchestre le Peuple - Tia Tibi Tia Yala
Neva Music 1981

It's been two weeks since our last post, I am very busy with
renovation work and just didn't find the energy to record anything.
Today we're back with an lp you'll enjoy for sure, hope it will
make up for the hiatus..

We had several of their albums, mostly they have beautiful covers,
piano and panther or a swell photo, this record has a dull sleeve
but don't be misled. The music of this group never disappointed
me yet and this lp makes no exception. Four wonderful songs to
spend your sunday afternoon with. Do not hesitate
and get it while you can.

tracks;

1   Bibila
2   Massa
3   Zunia amie espoir
4   Boni medos

Thanks man! Vocalist Kosmos Moutouari who was once co-joined with Pamelo Mounk'a and Celestin Kouka became the sole leader of Orchestre Le Peuple until 1982. That's when he departed towards Paris to embark on solo career. Guitar virtuoso Kifouetti Loubassou alias Denis Loubassou "La Cloche" played solo guitar while Mimi Kazidona played rhythm. Denis left towards to West Africa to join his friend Tchico Tchicaya and recorded a LP together that I posted on my Youtube channel. Mimi Kazidona became affiliated with Pamelo Mounk'a in Paris, he recorded a solo LP. In 1987, he joined Loketo, then quit to join Kanda Bongo Man. He is sadly deceased, also Denis as well. Rumba Soukous! Oye!

I was surptised this morning looking at this sleeve....
Exact copy of the 45 rpm "Fem'm Kolokinte" from the haitian group "Coupe Cloue"...
A treasure I had the chance to listen almost everyday when I was a kid !

Check it:
