If you like benga from Kenya, this here record is
for you. It's a compilation lp from 1976 and contains
tracks by Victoria Jazz Band, DO 7 Band and Inter-
national de Nelly. We had volumes 1,4 and 6 already,
now here's volume 2. My time is a bit limited at this moment
but later I'll add the links to the earlier volumes okay ?

Congolese singles comp. It concerns 7 Pathé singles
of which I ripped both sides each. Some well known
and some lesser known groups from Congo's seventies.

This album has also been released as Sonafric 50.003,
our copy on Ngoma has some traces of intensive play

Once I got acquainted with this type of music, there
was no way of stopping that train. A whole new territory
to explore, the Discos Fuentes 1970's brought loads of
sweet cumbia. It took some time to find but recently we got
real lucky. Take this here lp, Alfredo Gutierrez joined with
us in 2008 with one album, october 23rd. Always on the
lookout for Fuentes, last fair made me a happy man. At
last, a small pile of Colombian treasure found it's way
and ended on this fools shelf. Nacho Paredes is the
singer on this one, marvelous voices,
rolling beats & golden accordeons..

Good morning globe, I hope you all recovered from your
newyear's ball. 2013 promises to become a swell new year,
I trust it will be. Let me tell you how things are developing
here at the GG. I receive loads of complaints about links
that do not work. I know they don't. The new page and
server I promised you to install are still on hold because
the man I need to do the job is currently very occupied.
The work that needs to be done is of such complexity,
I am really unable to perform. Sorry to all of you who are
waiting for the new page to become active, it will take
a bit longer I'm affraid, so just hang on with patience.
It may even take two or three more monhts.

That being said, let's turn to today's post. To comfort you
while waiting, a true treasure is coming your way. If I under-
stood well, my French is not that good, this must be the
first "33 tours" that the great Rochereau launched. According
to Gilles Sala, who wrote the backsleeve's note, Rochereau
presented a new type of dance here they called le "Djohbs",
a blend of soukous, jerk and boucher. I am not familiar with
a lot of dances but believe it must have been awesome to
see. Let's just listen and enjoy this wonderful music..

Tagrijn Reünie 2013 - De Hits van Vroeger

Something special tonight, a compilation of songs we used
to play a whole lot in the past. Tagrijn was a youthcenter I
frequented at the end of the 70's and early 80's. Tonight's
reünion made me compile this little collector for those who
are interested. Some songs are younger but they breathe the
atmosphere we all loved in those days, hope U like..
